Closure of the school 18th February
Dear Parent/Carer,
I have just received an urgent communication from Vik Verma, the Director of Education and Learning at Dorset Council, issuing important advice on the need for the closure of the school tomorrow due to the potential effects of ‘Storm Eunice’. The relevant aspect reads as follows:
‘Following our Incident Management Team and Tactical Coordinators Group meetings, we are advising all schools to close tomorrow. The amber weather warning has been escalated to a red warning, where national advice is for all persons to stay at home in affected areas. School transport for both Home to School and SEND will not be operating tomorrow. This decision has been made in the interests of protecting the safety of your children and staff’ I sincerely hope that everyone stays safe and well and that the impending storm does not bring the potential damage that has been anticipated. It is regrettable that we will not be in school to enjoy the last day of term with the students but imperative that everyone takes the clear advice ‘for all persons to stay at home in affected areas’.
I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a restful half-term break. Please stay safe tomorrow.
Yours sincerely
Sara White
