WHAT ARE Bovington Parent Pods?
The Bovington Parent Forum is a partnership between parents and Bovington Academy. It is a valuable way to share ideas and views and for parents to make suggestions towards academy improvement. These meetings are known as Parent Pods.
The aims of The Bovington Parent Pods are to:
- work together to improve the opportunities provided for our children
- share information, knowledge and skills
- meet in a mutually supportive environment
- further improve communications between parents/carers, the local community and staff/governors
- meet with a range professionals to offer support and guidance
The Bovington Parent Pods does not have any statutory responsibilities, duties or powers in the academy.
WHO CAN BE PART OF THE Bovington Parent Pods?
Any parent or carer of children currently attending Bovington Academy is welcome to join any of The Bovington Parent Pods . The Bovington Parent Pods will be chaired by a member of the Bovington staff. At times other members of the academy or local community will also attend the meetings depending on the agenda items and what the academy feels they would like to share, such as new initiatives.
WHY SHOULD I BE PART OF THE Bovington Parent Pods?
It gives us the opportunity to get together on a regular basis to work together collaboratively to enhance the Bovington Academy experience. We value your opinion and want you to have a voice within our academy.
HOW OFTEN WILL THE Bovington Parent Pods MEET?
Fortnightly on a Thursday from 2:30 – 3:10pm. Watch out for the termly intnary that is sent out via Dojo and Arbor.
WHAT WILL BE DISCUSSED AT THE MEETINGS?
Anything related to improving the academy and further developing the partnership between the school and the community. The meetings will be informal and are an opportunity for an open discussion. Minutes of the meetings will be taken and these will be accessible on the academy’s website.
This is not the forum to discuss concerns or complaints involving individual children, families or members of staff. Please follow the appropriate route if you need to do this. The academy office will be able to support you with this. Any attendee who does not use the forum as expected will be asked to leave the meeting.
