Bovington Academy’s Service Children’s Champions

We would like to introduce ourselves as Bovington Academy’s Service Children’s Champions.

We are Lowry Stone and Rebecca Marshall. We both have a deep understanding of service life. Rebecca, whose husband Simon, served as a Submariner in the Royal Navy, and Lowry, whose husband Rocky, served in the Royal Armoured Corps. We work to support the emotional well-being and social development of children within our school who have a parent or carer who serves in the regular armed forces or serves as a reservist.
Our work encompasses one-to-one and group support where children have a safe space to express and explore their feelings. We signpost families to outside agencies for further help as well as offering individual support and advice.

For Service Families who are new to the area, we offer support with enhanced transition to ensure an early sense of belonging to our school and community. When the time comes for a service child to move on. we again ensure a fully supported transition.
Every morning you will find us at the school gate, greeting and welcoming our children and families. Please come and have a chat or make an appointment to see us.
